A coalition of electronic warfare was created in support of Ukraine within the framework of the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein).
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced this on his Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Today, within the framework of the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, together with my colleague, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, I officially announced the launch of a new Electronic Warfare Coalition," he said.
Umerov noted that this is the ninth coalition created within the Ramstein format, and 11 states, including Ukraine, have joined the initiative, which have signed a joint letter of intent.
The electronic warfare coalition will focus on:
- procurement of equipment
- training and preparation of specialists
- development of policies and doctrines in the field of electronic warfare.
According to him, the launch of the coalition will allow coordinating efforts and comprehensively responding to the needs of the Defense Forces.
"The coalition is designed not only to meet the current needs of the Ukrainian army in electronic warfare equipment, but also to lay the foundation for the long-term development of these capabilities," the Minister noted.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Umerov previously said that one of the main issues during the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format on April 11 in Brussels (Belgium) will be strengthening air defense, Ukraine needs a sufficient number of modern systems, such as Patriot.
The day before, it became known that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will participate in the meeting of countries that will meet to support Ukraine's self-defense (Ramstein) in the format of a video call.
