On the evening of April 10, a New York Helicopters helicopter crashed into the Hudson River near Manhattan in New York City during a tourist flight. All on board were killed, including three children.
It was reported by CNN.
On board the helicopter were the head of the Spanish branch of Siemens, Agustín Escobar, his wife, Mercè Camprubi Montal, and their three children, ages 4, 5, and 11. The 36-year-old pilot also died.
The family was on a helicopter tour. The plane took off from a helipad on Wall Street, reached the George Washington Bridge, turned south, and crashed. It flew for about 16 minutes before the accident. During the fall, the helicopter overturned, the tail rotor and blades fell off.
The helicopter was already on its sixth flight in a day. The helicopter was built in 2004, and its certificate was valid until 2029.
The investigation is investigating the causes of the crash.
Several videos taken before the crash have been published. They show the helicopter performing dangerous maneuvers.
Recall that on January 29, 2025, a plane crash occurred near Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington - a passenger plane collided with a Black Hawk military helicopter and fell into the Potomac River.
