The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has denied information in the media about the alleged transfer of the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces, Vadym Sukharevskyi, to another position.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"In the process of forming the organizational core and further appointing the leadership of the new army corps, various candidates for commanders with significant combat experience were considered, in particular, the candidacy of Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi. However, the information disseminated by some media outlets regarding the alleged transfer of Vadym Sukharevskyi to another position in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not true," the report says.
The General Staff states that as of now, Colonel Sukharevskyi continues to perform the tasks assigned to him as the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
Thus, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine responded to information in the media that Sukharevskyi was planned to be dismissed from the post of Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, and instead he may be appointed commander of a newly created army corps.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, was appointed to the post of Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in June 2024.
