Trump says other countries are "kissing my a**" to try and make trade deal

US President Donald Trump said his global tariff policy is "war with the world" and then said it “is not a war at all", referring to countries that send world leaders to the US for negotiations and added that these countries are "kissing my a**". He made this statement during the National Republican Congressional Committee in Washington, CNN reports.

The US President said that other countries that are trying to hold trade talks with him and reduce import tariffs are begging him for a deal.

"These countries are calling us, they are kissing my a**. They are begging for a deal: 'Please, please, sir, make a deal. I will do anything. I'll do anything, sir," the US President said, speaking at a charity dinner for the National Republican Congressional Committee. His words were met with laughter among those present.

Donald Trump mentioned this in his speech that raising tariffs would help Republicans in the House of Representatives before the 2026 midterm elections.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 8, US President Donald Trump said that he was waiting for a call from the Chinese side to conclude an agreement.

Recall that on April 7, Trump threatened China with additional tariffs of 50% in response to China's introduction of a 34% tariff.
