Ex-Myanmar beauty queen killed saving child during earthquake

28-year-old Sili Mee, the winner of the title "Miss Tourism Myanmar", was killed during a powerful earthquake in the city of Mandalay while trying to save a child. Her body was found among the rubble of the 12-story Sky Villa residential complex, which collapsed due to tremors. This was reported by the Need to Know portal.

According to eyewitnesses, Sili Mee rushed to help the child and remained in the building at the time of its collapse.

The organizers of the "Miss Tourism Myanmar" contest expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. Sili Mee became the first winner of this contest in 2018 and represented Myanmar at the international contest "Miss Tourism World".

The Sky Villa residential complex, built in 2017, was considered one of the most modern in the city. The building housed Mandalay's largest bar on the roof, and the complex also housed a gym.
