Trading volume on PFTS down 13% to UAH 57.2 billion in March

In March 2025, the total trading volume on the PFTS amounted to UAH 57.2 billion (87% of the previous month's level), or 79% of the total trading volume of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.

This is stated in the exchange's message, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

In January-March 2025, the total trading volume on the PFTS amounted to UAH 207.4 billion (230% of the level of the same period in 2024), or 82% of the total trading volume of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.

In the structure of trades in March, the share of Ukrainian government bonds was 75.3% (UAH 43.1 billion, or 81.6% of the previous month's level), currency swaps - 20.3% (UAH 11.6 billion, or 138% of the previous month's level), foreign government bonds - 3.7% (UAH 2.1 billion or 50% of the previous month's level), securities of collective investment institutions - 0.4% (UAH 0.24 billion or 101% of the previous month's level), corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 0.4% (UAH 0.2 billion or 78% of the previous month's level), corporate bonds of foreign issuers - 0.03% (UAH 0.02 billion), shares of foreign issuers - 0.001% (UAH 0.4 million or 52% of the previous month's level) and shares of Ukrainian issuers - 0.0002% (UAH 0.1 million or 8.6% of the previous month's level).

In March, 10% of transactions were concluded on the "order market", 85% on the "quotation market" (including address transactions), 3% of transactions in the REPO and REPO "with risk control" modes, 3% of transactions in the unilateral auction mode, and 2% of transactions in the SWAP "with risk control" mode.

In March 2025, 42 trading participants concluded transactions with 87 securities issues (52 government domestic loan bonds, 9 government foreign loan bonds, 7 corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers, 6shares of foreign issuers, 5 CII securities, 4bonds of foreign countries, 2 currency swaps, 1 shares of Ukrainian issuers, and 1 foreign issuer’s corporate bond.

In the 1st quarter of 2025, 45 trading participants concluded transactions with 121 securities issues. government domestic loan bonds - 58, government foreign loan bonds - 9, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 13, bonds of foreign countries - 13, shares of foreign issuers - 11, shares of Ukrainian issuers - 8, CII securities - 6, currency swaps - 2 and bonds of foreign issuers - 1.

Since June 17, 2024, trading in currency swaps began in the PFTS trading system.

In March 2025, transactions were concluded with currency swaps "US dollar - Ukrainian hryvnia" (ticker: USDUAH) and “euro - Ukrainian hryvnia" (ticker: EURUAH).

The total volume of trading in these swaps amounted to UAH 11.6 billion (20.3% of the total trading volume, or 138% of the previous month's level).

Among the 52 issues of government bonds with which transactions were concluded in March, 25 issues - with maturity dates in 2025 (UAH 14.9 billion), 14 issues - with maturity dates in 2026 (UAH 9.1 billion), 12 issues - with maturity dates in 2027 (UAH 12.7 billion), 2 issues - with maturity dates in 2028 (UAH 5.5 billion).

From July 26, 2022, trading in domestic government bonds of Ukraine denominated in foreign currency, in the currency of the nominal value, began on the PFTS.

In March 2025, the volume of exchange contracts with government bonds executed in the nominal currency amounted to USD 77.1 million and EUR 35.9 million (8% of the total trading volume).

As of April 1, 2025, the number of members of JSC "PFTS Stock Exchange" admitted to trading was 50: 29 banks and 21 financial companies.

412 issues of financial instruments were admitted to trading on JSC "PFTS Stock Exchange", of which 116 issues of securities were in the Exchange Register.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in February 2025, the total trading volume on the PFTS amounted to UAH 65.9 billion (78% of the previous month's level), or 80% of the total trading volume of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.
