President Zelenskyy "unpleasantly surprised" by US reaction to russian strike on Kryvyi Rih

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was "unpleasantly surprised" by the reaction of the US Embassy, which did not use the word "russian" when commenting on the strike on Kryvyi Rih.

The Head of State noted this on his official page on the social network Telegram.

"It is very important that this russian attack on people, on the city, and every such attack does not remain without a reaction from the world. Many people have already supported Kryvyi Rih and all of Ukraine yesterday and today. I am grateful to the foreign ministers of the Czech Republic, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Austria for their principled position. I thank the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy for her position and support. We appreciate the principled statement made by the embassies of Japan, Great Britain, Switzerland and Germany.

Unfortunately, the reaction of the American Embassy is unpleasantly surprising: such a strong country, such a strong people - and such a weak reaction. They are even afraid to say the word "russian" when talking about the missile that killed children," the President stated.

Zelenskyy added that in order to end the war, one must "not be afraid to call things by their proper names and put pressure on the only one who continues this war and ignores all the world's proposals to end it."

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the evening of April 4, the russian army launched a ballistic missile strike on a residential area of Kryvyi Rih: 18 people were killed, including 9 children, and over 60 were injured.
