US Treasury Secretary announces visit of Ukrainian team for minerals deal

A team from Ukraine will arrive in the US late this week or early next week to discuss an economic cooperation agreement between the two countries.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated this, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, April 3.

Bessent said that the economic cooperation agreement is very important for both the American people and the Ukrainian people, as well as for the peace process in general. According to him, the agreement is ready on the US side, and the Ukrainian side has hired a consultant.

“A team from Ukraine would be coming to the US either later this week or early next week to go over a proposed economic cooperation agreement between the two nations,” the report says.

“We believe this deal so important for the American people, for the Ukrainian people, and for the peace process,” the US Treasury Secretary emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 4, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced his desire to sign an agreement on minerals and his readiness for peace negotiations.

On March 5, Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine and the United States were working to arrange a new meeting.

On March 31, US President Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy allegedly wanted to abandon the rare earth metals agreement.
