Ukraine and russia on verge of comprehensive ceasefire — Kellogg

The US President's special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said that Ukraine and the aggressor country russia are allegedly on the verge of a complete ceasefire.

Kellogg made the corresponding statement on the American Fox TV channel on Wednesday, April 2.

According to him, Washington intends to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire between the Ukrainian and russian armies lasting 30 days.

He believes that resuming the war "will be very difficult" if the sides stop fighting and mutual strikes one by one.

"I really believe that we are on the verge of a ceasefire, but both sides will have to compromise," Kellogg said.

He emphasized that neither Ukraine nor russia will get everything they want. Each side "will have to give something up."

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the day before yesterday, the russian Foreign Ministry stated that moscow cannot accept the US proposals to end the war against Ukraine. They allegedly do not address the root causes of the conflict.

Recall that on April 1, Reuters reported, citing sources, that the US leadership has come to realize that it will not be possible to end the war for at least another few months.
