Forbes has published an updated ranking of the richest people in the world, which includes 3,028 billionaires – this is the highest figure since the list was created in 1987. The richest people in the world together own a record USD 16.1 trillion.
The five richest people in the world currently look like this:
- Elon Musk (Tesla and SpaceX) – USD 342 billion.
- Mark Zuckerberg (META) – USD 216 billion.
- Jeff Bezos (Amazon) – USD 215 billion
- Larry Ellison (Oracle) – USD 192 billion
- Bernard Arnault (Louis Vuitton) – USD 178 billion.
Six citizens of Ukraine also turned out to be among the richest people on the planet.
Rinat Akhmetov has traditionally become the richest among Ukrainians. He occupies the 378th line of the rating with a capital of USD 7.9 billion. An interesting fact is that last year turned out to be the most successful for him. In 2024, Akhmetov was able not only to double his fortune (in 2024, Forbes estimated his capital at USD 4 billion), but also to show the best result in the last five years (in 2021, Akhmetov's capital was estimated at USD 7.6 billion).
The second among Ukrainian oligarchs is Viktor Pinchuk, who was able to increase his own assets from USD 2 billion to USD 3.2 billion in a year. He occupies the 1141st line of the global rating.
The top three are closed by former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, whose fortune was estimated at USD 1.8 billion. It is worth noting that, unlike Akhmetov and Pinchuk, in the case of Poroshenko, Forbes provides data not for the last five years, but only for 2021 and 2025. That is, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Poroshenko has become richer by USD 200 million. This allowed him to take 1947th place in the list of billionaires in the world.
Also in the ranking are the former Member of Parliament of Ukraine, President of the Kernel Group Holding Andrii Verevskyi (USD 1.4 billion), Vadym Novinsky, Kostiantyn Zhevaho and co-founder of the Revolut service Vlad Yatsenko, who each have USD 1.2 billion and share the 2623rd place in the ranking.
Earlier, Forbes magazine compiled a traditional ranking of Hollywood stars' incomes. When calculating income, only projects in which the heroes of the rating acted as directors, actors or producers were taken into account.
