Speaker of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom Sir Lindsay Hoyle believes that russia is not serious about a ceasefire.
He said this at a briefing for journalists, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Is russia serious about a ceasefire? Judging by what I see, no," he is convinced.
According to him, the russians are talking about a ceasefire that is not happening, while their troops continue their offensive on Ukrainian territories.
Every meter of Ukrainian land captured by russian troops brings the threat closer to the rest of Europe, the Speaker of the House of Commons is convinced.
"This is not just a question of Ukraine - it is a question of peace in all of Europe. We all want to see a ceasefire, but it must be sustainable and real, and not just a delay for the aggressor. Ukrainians have the right to their land, to peace and to a democratically elected government," he concluded.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, United States President Donald Trump acknowledged that russian dictator vladimir putin may be trying to delay and postpone a full ceasefire with Ukraine.
