In March, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out 158 hits with DeepStrike means (long-range strike drones). The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We continue to destroy the enemy. Thus, since the beginning of March, the artillery of the Defense Forces has completed about 100,000 fire missions, UAV operators - over 81,700 combat special missions, including 158 hits with DeepStrike means," he said.
During a meeting on the results of the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in March, Syrskyi stressed the need to increase the number of fiber-optic drones resistant to enemy electronic warfare (EW) means. In addition, he identified tasks for staffing combat brigades, and stressed the need to improve the quality of training.
He noted that the main tasks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine remain to maintain defense lines and stabilize the situation in threatening directions. According to him, thanks to the adopted management decisions and the resilience of Ukrainian soldiers, this task was partially accomplished, in particular, regarding the Pokrovsk Axis.
Syrskyi noted that in the operational zone of the Donetsk OSTG, the enemy is concentrating its main offensive efforts, but is actually stalling in place. At the same time, according to him, Ukrainian troops, where possible, are using active defense tactics, moving forward in some areas of the front, improving the tactical situation, restoring dozens of positions, and restraining significant enemy forces.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced in December that in 2025, more than 30,000 long-range strike drones, the so-called DeepStrike, will be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
