Ukraine receives USD 400 million in IMF tranche - Shmyhal

The state budget of Ukraine has received about USD 400 million of the next tranche of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"These are the funds that we received after the successful seventh review of the EFF program. Thus, the total IMF support within this initiative has reached over USD 10 billion," he noted.

Shmyhal thanked the fund for its assistance and close cooperation that supports the Ukrainian economy during the war.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early March, Shmyhal announced that he expects a tranche of USD 400 million from the IMF based on the results of the 7th review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), and not USD 900 million, as previously planned, because Ukraine does not lack funds.

For 2025, the IMF EFF program provides for up to USD 2.3 billion based on the results of four reviews.

On March 31, 2023, the IMF Executive Board approved a four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program for Ukraine with financing of about USD 15.5 billion (SDR 11.6 billion).

The program is part of a package of international support for Ukraine that currently amounts to about USD 148 billion for 2023-2027.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the International Monetary Fund has been the third-largest provider of financial assistance to Ukraine, after the European Union and the United States.
