Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will visit Greenland in early April to hold talks with the incoming Prime Minister of Greenland, Jens Frederik Nielsen. She praised how Greenland's politicians and people are coping with the enormous pressure.
The Danish Prime Minister's Office announced this.
The visit is "to strengthen unity with Greenland" and will take place from April 2 to 4, 2025. The Prime Minister will discuss cooperation between Greenland and Denmark with the incoming Prime Minister of the country, Jens Frederik Nielsen.
"I have deep respect for the way the Greenlandic people and Greenlandic politicians are dealing with the enormous pressure on Greenland. This situation requires unity between political parties. Between the countries of the Kingdom of Denmark. And cooperation in a respectful and equal manner," she stressed.
The trip will take place after the visit of US Vice President J.D. Vance to the US military base in the northwestern part of Greenland.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, US President Donald Trump said that the seizure of Greenland will happen 100%. One of the possible scenarios is the seizure of the island by force.
