Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that there is no plan to increase the minimum wage in 2025.
He said this during the "hour of questions to government" in the Verkhovna Rada, which was broadcast by Oleksii Honcharenko, MP from the European Solidarity faction, on the YouTube channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"This year's budget does not provide for an increase in the minimum wage," Shmyhal noted.
According to him, the minimum wage will be left at the same level as it is now.
Since January 2025, the minimum wage has been UAH 8,000.
The level of the minimum wage affects a number of social payments and salaries of "budget employees", in particular teachers and lecturers.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers postponed until the end of the war the increase in the minimum salary for teachers to the three minimum salaries specified in the Law "On Education".
In addition, in March, the Cabinet of Ministers established categories of officials who will receive a 10% bonus to their official salary for knowledge of the English language.
Also in March, the Verkhovna Rada changed the formation of salaries for civil servants.
