The temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP will not work without Ukraine and will not work for the aggressor country russia.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during a meeting with journalists, writes RBC-Ukraine.
"He (Trump – ed.) and I discussed the Zaporizhzhia NPP once on the phone. I think they also discussed it with the Russians. We talked about the nuclear power plant, I told him that just a station - it will not work. There is a city, people live there, their families. I said that they blew up the dam, access to water, many issues," said Zelenskyy.
The President noted that the russians were counting on the Zaporizhzhia NPP to give them electricity. However, this will not happen, because it is a Ukrainian power plant.
"It will not work without us and will not work for them. This is my position, I told Trump about it," added the head of state.
According to him, the restoration of the Zaporizhzhia NPP may take from 2 to 2.5 years and this requires a lot of money.
"Trump asked me if we could work together on this topic. I told him this: if you invest in modernization, if you help return the station – okay, this is a normal conversation," Zelenskyy said.
Recall, Zelenskyy said that some employees of the Zaporizhzhia NPP are working under pressure and coercion, because the russians took their children to russia.
