China denies considering PRC’s involvement in peacekeeping forces in Ukraine

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has denied that the country is discussing a peacekeeping role in Ukraine.

This was reported by The Global Times.

Thus, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said that the report that China is discussing a peacekeeping role in Ukraine is "absolutely untrue."

He said this in response to a journalist's question, who referred to a report by the German publication Welt am Sonntag that the Chinese Foreign Ministry had discussed in Brussels the possibility of China joining the peacekeeping forces in Ukraine, and asked to confirm whether China was considering the possibility of deploying troops in Ukraine as part of such a mission and under what conditions.

At a press conference on Monday, Guo added that China's position on the russian-Ukrainian war remains consistent and unambiguous.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, meanwhile, the Chinese Agency for International Development Cooperation (China Aid) has expressed a desire to participate in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
