Mobile operator Kyivstar is buying one of Ukraine's largest online car ordering services Uklon.
This is announced in the company's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The statement says that Kyivstar announces the signing of an agreement to purchase 97% of the corporate rights of the Uklon product IT company, which is a developer of an online car ordering platform and application, and is currently represented in Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
In addition to the car ordering service online or through the application, the company also provides a delivery service.
It is noted that Uklon operates in 27 Ukrainian cities and in the Bukovel tourist complex and unites more than 100,000 active driver-partners on the platform, who together fulfill more than 10 million orders every month.
In addition, since 2023, the company has begun international expansion by launching an online car ordering service in Uzbekistan.
After signing the agreement, Kyivstar and Uklon will remain separate businesses, and the company's team, led by Uklon CEO Serhii Hryshkov, will continue to work on the development of the company's products and services in Ukraine and other markets.
The deal is scheduled to close in April 2025 after fulfilling standard closing conditions.
Dragon Capital acted as Uklon's exclusive financial advisor in this deal.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 6, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine granted mobile operator Kyivstar permission to acquire the Uklon taxi service.
VEON's largest shareholder is LetterOne Group, which was created by the founders of the russian Alfa Group Mikhail Fridman, German Khan and Alexei Kuzmichov.
In 2022, they left the board of directors after russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions against Fridman.
