Ceasefire talks will continue on March 23 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). This was stated by US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
According to Fox News, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz will travel to Saudi Arabia from the American side.
The main issue of the negotiations will be the agreement on the details, in particular on the 30-day cessation of hostilities.
Commenting on the possibility of stopping attacks on energy infrastructure and targets in the Black Sea, Witkoff noted: "The russians are now agreeing on both of these aspects."
He also expressed hope that Ukraine supports these agreements: "I really hope that the Ukrainians will also agree to this."
According to him, the negotiations will start on Sunday in Jeddah, and the US is counting on a constructive dialogue: "We, of course, have some details that need to be discussed, but it will start on Sunday in Jeddah, and we will have a good conversation to achieve positive results."
It is assumed that the 30-day ceasefire will cover not only energy facilities, but also infrastructure in general.
There is currently no official information about who will represent Ukraine at these negotiations. The russian side has also not yet confirmed its participation in the meeting with the US on March 23.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 18, US President Donald Trump and russian dictator vladimir putin began a telephone conversation at 4:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. GMT).
The conversation between Trump and putin lasted about 2.5 hours. Trump called the conversation with putin "productive" and "good."
Russian dictator vladimir putin agreed in a phone call with US President Donald Trump to a mutual 30-day suspension of attacks on energy infrastructure.
Trump also denied that putin demanded a halt to aid to Ukraine.
