Macron tells Zelenskyy about signals received after exchange of information with Trump

French President Emmanuel Macron held a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In it, he informed the Ukrainian leader about US President Donald Trump's position on peace in Ukraine.

Macron wrote about this on his official page on X (Twitter).

He reported that the day before, he and Trump exchanged views on peace and security in Ukraine. And on March 16, Macron spoke with Zelenskyy.

"President Zelenskyy had the courage to accept the American proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. Now Russia must prove that it really wants peace," Macron wrote.

According to him, "the guns must fall silent," and "deported Ukrainian children must be reunited with their families."

"All these conditions must be fulfilled by Russia. And I know that President Trump is committed to this," Macron emphasized.

He added that now France, the US, Ukraine and their partners must present a concrete peace plan that will provide reliable security guarantees.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy said that the G7 countries will increase sanctions pressure on russia if moscow does not agree to a ceasefire.
