Since the beginning of the military aggression against Ukraine in 2014, the total amount of losses incurred by the Epicenter group of companies due to loss of assets and loss of profits has exceeded USD 1 billion.
The company has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that independent experts have completed the assessment of the losses of the Epicenter group of companies caused by the military aggression against Ukraine.
The examinations were carried out with the support of several third-party law firms and can later be used as evidence in claims for recovery of damages.
The statement says that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, seven shopping centers in Mariupol, Chernihiv, Bucha, Nikopol, Kharkiv and two in Kherson with a total area of over 125,600 sq. meters have been completely destroyed.
Two more shopping centers in Kramatorsk and Kharkiv (Oleksiivka microdistrict) stopped working due to damage and proximity to combat zones, and the shopping center in Melitopol was occupied.
In addition, as a result of the annexation of Ukrainian territories in 2014, Epicenter lost control over seven more shopping facilities with a total area of almost 163,200 sq. meters.
According to the company's preliminary estimates, the losses incurred as a result of the loss of these shopping facilities amount to at least USD 267.5 million.
Thus, in general, as a result of military aggression against Ukraine, the total amount of losses of the Epicenter group of companies from the loss of assets has already reached USD 1.02 billion.
“We are actively working in the legal field to compensate for these funds at the expense of the aggressor, but we understand that this is a very long process. Therefore, the reconstruction of the destroyed shopping centers has already begun today,” said Petro Mykhailyshyn, CEO of Epicenter K.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Epicenter Generation began cross-border electricity trade for the first time in January 2025.
Epicenter K began its activities with the opening of its first hypermarket in Kyiv on December 6, 2003.
The company is developing the Epicenter shopping center network and the Nova Liniya building materials hypermarket.
Epicenter K also has a franchise for the development of the Intersport sports goods network.
The ultimate beneficiaries of the company are Halyna and Oleksandr Hereha.
