Russian army intensifies in Zaporizhzhia Region: fighting continues for Piatykhatky and Mali Shcherbaky – DeepState

Since the beginning of March, the russian occupiers have been increasing pressure on the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the area of Piatykhatky and Mali Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia Region. The enemy operates in small infantry groups and is trying to gain a foothold in strategically important areas.

The DeepState analytical project has reported this.

According to analysts, after replenishing reserves, the 108th Air Assault Regiment of the russian federation resumed assault operations near Mali Shcherbaky. It soon became known that this same unit began attacks on Piatykhatky. The videos recorded fighting on the southeastern outskirts of the settlement.

"Russian troops are not stopping attempts to establish full control over the village," DeepState notes.

In addition, fighting has intensified in the area of Stepove, where the invaders are trying to reach the highway and gain a foothold on it. The Ukrainian military is conducting artillery fire to stop the enemy's advance, but the invaders are gradually approaching the highway.

Attacks on Mali Shcherbaky are also ongoing. According to available information, the enemy has advanced from the southern direction and is gaining a foothold in the forest belts near the village.

"Unfortunately, our units are facing traditional problems. The military leadership is aware of the situation and is taking measures to stabilize it. Great hopes are placed on the 128th separate mountain assault brigade, which has significant combat experience in this area, as well as on other units performing tasks in this direction," the report says.

Recall that on March 16, 112 combat clashes took place at the front, with the enemy attacking most frequently on the Pokrovsk (21 assaults) and Toretsk and Kursk (14 each) axes.
