President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the results of the online meeting of the leaders of the countries, which took place on March 15, and stated that Ukraine received support and strong sanctions pressure on russia.
He wrote about this on social networks.
"Everyone understands that Ukraine needs help now more than ever. Everyone congratulated Ukraine on a real victory in Jeddah - a victory in diplomacy. Everyone believes that this is serious progress and it will be difficult for russia to get out of it now. It must demonstrate, if it goes to a ceasefire, that it supports the end of the war, or it wants to continue the war," the head of state said.
According to him, the decision on NATO or any other format should depend on NATO allies.
"It's definitely not because of russia's desire, their vision, especially because of russia's veto on NATO. Because they have no legal force here, and we don't need to give them a pass so that they have such an opportunity," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
He said that several partners said important things.
"As for the ceasefire, the most important thing is that no one should go to the russian "but". The ceasefire should not go along with the "but". This is a ceasefire for 30 days. This is not eternity. This is silence," the head of state noted.
As the President noted, these are 30 days when all sides are given the opportunity to demonstrate speed and desire to end the war.
"We had to demonstrate that we want peace, and the russians want war. All this was demonstrated in one meeting. Constructively, positively. And once again, we thank both the Americans and the Ukrainian representatives for this meeting," he summed up.
