President Trump promises news on Ukraine-russia talks on March 17 - media

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, promised that on Monday, March 17, there will be news on the ceasefire talks with Ukraine and russia.

He said this in an interview with journalist Sharyl Attkisson, answering a question about communication with putin.

"We are dealing with him, and I think it is being done wisely. The situation is very difficult, you know, it is a bloody, terrible war. I think everything is going well. You know, we have a ceasefire agreement with the Ukrainians. And we are trying to get it with russia. And I think so far everything has gone well. We will know a little more on Monday. And, I hope, it will be good," Trump said.

In addition, speaking at the Department of Justice, Trump assured the audience that he had found a compelling argument in the negotiations with Moscow.

"We are now looking for a ceasefire with russia. And we have had some very good conversations about it. We have received some very good answers ... I talk to president putin a lot about it. I said, don't do it. Don't do it. I won't say what he said. But if he believed even 5% of what I said, he would say I will not do it," Trump said.

"And I think he did ... I didn't want to say it until I got here. I got good news. But we'll have to see what happens," Trump said.
