During the upcoming negotiations, in no case can the reduction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the military-industrial complex be discussed. Ukraine must maintain a 500,000-strong professional and technological army with decent salaries, as well as drone and missile programs.
The first deputy chairman of the UDAR party of Vitali Klitschko, chairman of the party's Central Election Commission, Artur Palatnyi, has reported this to RBC-Ukraine.
"The only real guarantee of the existence of Ukraine and the existence of a peaceful Europe is the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The main thing that categorically cannot be discussed in negotiations with the US, the EU and Russia is any weakening, reduction or limitation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We cannot allow our army to be reduced to the size of a peacekeeping contingent with a giant man-eater at our side. If we agree to this, the territory will have no meaning, as will anyone's security guarantees. The Armed Forces of Ukraine should be a constant among all the variables in the formula for future peace," wrote Artur Palatnyi.
The reduction of our military-industrial complex cannot be discussed either, Palatnyi stressed.
"No reduction in missile programs, drone production programs, and other weapons! We have already gone through a shell famine from delays in the supply of missiles provided by other states. Reducing these programs means turning even a large army into cannon fodder. We must value the lives of our defenders as the highest value," he emphasized.
Palatnyi also spoke about how the UDAR party sees the future of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
First of all, it should be a 500,000-strong professional technological army, the core of which will be the military who will return from the front and show a desire to defend Ukraine further.
"The larger and stronger the Armed Forces of Ukraine are, the less the Russians will want to "pavtarit". The longer there will be peace and tranquility on the European continent," Palatnyi emphasized.
The minimum salary of a soldier should not be lower than that currently received by fighters on the front lines, so that military service remains prestigious and provides a decent standard of living.
"A figure of tens of billions of euros is not a significant amount for the scale of the EU, which in return will receive a powerful wall of protection on the border with the "savages". And the task of the Ukrainian authorities is to explain to Europeans that a strong Ukrainian army on European borders is a profitable investment in their security. And our European partners have to pay for it," Palatnyi is sure.
He also noted that Ukraine has developed unique missile and drone technologies that will become the basis of the strategy of modern armies in the world. And these developments must be preserved and developed.
