US President Donald Trump believes that the United States could annex Greenland.
He stated this during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The video of the meeting was broadcast by the Ukrainian service of the Voice of America.
When asked by journalists whether he considers the annexation of Greenland possible, Trump answered in the affirmative.
"I think it will happen," he said.
Trump added that he "didn't think enough before" about the annexation of the island. At the same time, he praised the results of the elections in Greenland.
Recall that the likely new Prime Minister of Greenland on Wednesday rejected US President Donald Trump's attempts to take control of the island, stating that Greenlanders should be able to independently decide their future on the path to independence from Denmark.
