Minister of Interior Affairs Ihor Klymenko has confirmed the murder of activist Demyan Hanul.
He said this during the government question hour broadcast by the Verkhovna Rada member from the European Solidarity faction Oleksii Honcharenko on his YouTube channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Regarding the murder of Hanul in the city of Odesa. A task force of the best employees has been created, it has already left for the city of Odesa. And the head of the National Police has also been sent to the city of Odesa. I am taking personal control of the disclosure of this crime," he said.
The central office of the National Police has formed an investigative task force of the best employees, who have already left for Odesa, according to Klymenko.
The minister noted that the head of the National Police also left for Odesa.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the afternoon of March 14, a man was shot dead in the center of Odesa. Sources indicate that it was pro-Ukrainian activist and volunteer Demyan Hanul.
