The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading a bill proposing to introduce criminal liability in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 8 years for employees of territorial recruitment and social support centers for mobilizing those who are not subject to it.
This was announced on his Telegram channel by Member of Parliament from the Holos faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It is proposed to supplement the Criminal Code with a new article 337-1 "Violation of the procedure for conscription by a military official".
The newly introduced article provides for punishment for violation by a military official of the procedure for conscription of a citizen for military service, which led to the conscription of a citizen who is not subject to such conscription in accordance with the law.
The violation is punishable by service restriction for a term of up to 2 years or detention in a disciplinary battalion for the same term, or imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years.
For the same act committed repeatedly or by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, or in conditions of a special period, except for martial law, the punishment is provided in the form of imprisonment for a term of from 3 to 6 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of from one to three years.
During martial law, such violations are proposed to be punished by imprisonment for a term of from 3 to 8 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of from one to three years.
All of the above penalties are also provided for illegal actions that led to exemption from conscription or discharge from military service due to health reasons.
Among the authors of the bill: Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Law Enforcement, MP from the Servant of the People faction Maksym Pavliuk, his colleagues in the faction - Chairman of the Committee on National Security Oleksandr Zavitnevych and member of the same committee Oleksandr Fedienko.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement recommends that the parliament adopt as a basis a bill that proposes to introduce criminal liability in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 8 years for employees of territorial recruitment and social support centers for the mobilization of those who are not subject to it.
