In the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on the roof of one of the churches on Saturday, March 8, a cross collapsed, rescuers were called to the scene.
The capital's State Emergency Service has reported this.
The incident occurred at lunchtime.
"On March 8 at 1:05 p.m., the Rescue Service received a message about the need for assistance in Lavrskyi Lane, in the Pecherskyi District," the capital's State Emergency Service said in a statement.
Arriving at the scene of the call, rescuers saw that a cross had collapsed on the dome of one of the churches of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
Special equipment had to be used for the work. Using a car-crane lift, the rescuers safely dismantled the structure. They climbed to the dome, cut the wire and removed the cross.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Yevhen Klopotenko filmed a cooking show in the refectory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Social media users were divided: some supported the chef, but some condemned him.
The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra also commented on the filming of Klopotenko's show in the refectory.
