US announces visit of NATO Secretary General to Washington next week - media

The White House is expecting a visit by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte next week, during which, in particular, the issue of ending russia's war against Ukraine will be discussed.

This was stated on Friday at the White House by the US President's National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, according to the Yahoo portal.

"The President (Trump - ed.) had numerous conversations and visits with French President Macron, British Prime Minister Starmer. The NATO Secretary General will arrive next week," Waltz noted in the context of the US administration's efforts to resolve the war in Ukraine.

He added that the American team is working in this direction in an intensified mode, and next week he and Secretary of State Rubio will have meetings in Saudi Arabia with the Ukrainian delegation.

"We will engage in shuttle diplomacy and continue to use the leadership (of President Trump - ed.) and the leverage that we have to get both sides to the peace table," Waltz noted, adding that it will not be easy.
