The UK and France intend to jointly with Ukraine develop a plan to end the war, which will be presented to the US leadership. It is planned that it will help "build bridges" between Kyiv and Washington before possible negotiations.
Reuters reported this, citing unnamed European diplomats.
"We're looking at putting this plan together in days and not weeks," said one of the agency's interlocutors.
Another diplomat noted that the idea is to have all "ducks lined up", including a healthier dialogue between Washington and Kyiv, and at the same time emphasize that russia is the aggressor.
The agency's interlocutors believe that if all the conditions are created, this will open the doors of the White House for new meetings between Europeans and Americans. At the same time, it is unclear at this stage whether President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in them.
Details of the plan have not been released, but one European diplomat said military chiefs are aiming to finalize the military aspects next week.
One option is a partial ceasefire for a month, covering air and sea attacks, as well as attacks on energy infrastructure. Such a ceasefire would be supported by Britain, France and other willing countries.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 5, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a plan of the first steps towards a lasting peace would be ready in the near future.
