Johnson calls halt to US aid to Ukraine "temporary"

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson believes that the suspension of US military aid to Ukraine is "temporary". He also called on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to fix what happened in the Oval Office on Friday, February 28.

Johnson said this at a briefing on March 4, broadcast by Fox News.

"This is a temporary pause," Johnson said.

Johnson believes that Zelenskyy must "come and make right what happened last week, the shocking developments in the Oval Office". At the same time, he is pleased that Zelenskyy "has indicated that he does want to do this deal after all".

Johnson called the deal beneficial for all parties.

"I think it’s the best deal that could be offered, and it will assist the Ukrainian people," Johnson said.

Recall that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had instructed the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, intelligence chiefs, and diplomats to contact their American counterparts and obtain full information regarding assistance from the United States.

On March 4, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine was ready for peace talks.
