Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru, speaking about the argue between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump, noted that the country "has no intention of taking sides," but added that Japan will do everything possible to prevent the deepening of differences between the US and Ukraine.

Thus, Ishiba emphasized that he will make efforts to involve the US and the unity of the Group of Seven in resolving the war in Ukraine.
The Japanese Prime Minister said that he did not know why this happened, commenting on the verbal skirmish between Zelenskyy and Trump. But, according to him, it seems that Trump had his own opinion on how much burden the United States should bear. He added that, in his opinion, Trump felt that the Ukrainian side was unable to give an adequate response.
Ishiba stressed that it would be extremely regrettable if Zelenskyy's call for peace, when many people are dying in war, did not work sufficiently.
The Prime Minister said: "We do not intend to take sides." At the same time, he added that it is important for the G7 members to unite.
The English version of the material further states that Ishiba said that he believes patience and compassion are necessary to achieve peace and the greatest benefit. He said that simply throwing emotions at each other is not good, and that diplomacy supported by patience and compassion should be conducted to achieve peace.
Ishiba noted that, in his opinion, both Presidents have a common goal - to achieve peace as soon as possible. He added that Japan will do everything possible to prevent the deepening of differences between the United States and Ukraine or between the G7 countries.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in December, Ukraine received about USD 1.2 billion from Japan through World Bank projects in the social, medical, business support, reconstruction, and education sectors.
