Trump dodges question about whether he asked Zelenskyy to leave White House after public spat

U.S. President Donald Trump has refused to answer a question about whether he asked President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to leave the White House after their public spat.

The American television channel CNN has reported this.

After meeting with Zelenskyy, Trump spoke to the media. Journalists asked him whether he asked the Ukrainian leader to leave after their scuffle in the Oval Office of the White House.

"I don't have to tell you that. I think you know the answer to that," Trump replied.

According to CNN, Trump ordered Zelenskyy and other members of the Ukrainian delegation to leave his official residence early.

Zelenskyy and Trump were supposed to hold a joint press conference after signing the mineral agreement, but due to the public spat, this did not happen.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on Friday, February 28, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Washington to meet with Donald Trump.

The main purpose of the Ukrainian President's visit was to sign a mineral agreement. The Ukrainian President also planned to give a speech at the Hudson Institute.

However, during the public part of the meeting, Zelenskyy got into a heated argument with Trump over Washington's soft approach to russian dictator vladimir putin.

Later, Zelenskyy and Trump had a closed-door conversation, but it did not last long. As it later became known, the Ukrainian President left the White House early.

After that, Trump published a message in which he wrote that Zelenskyy should return when he was ready for peace.
