US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessant said that the agreement on minerals between Ukraine and the United States is fully prepared for signing. All the conditions have been agreed, it remains only to sign the document.

According to Bessant, the signing of the agreement is to take place on February 28 during the meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with US President Donald Trump in Washington. The minister stressed the importance of this agreement.
“It (the agreement - ed.) is completed, it is on paper, and the Ukrainian government has approved it. Tomorrow (February 28 - ed.) the heads of state are expected to sign it. This is an agreement on minerals, oil, gas and infrastructure assets. This is truly a mutually beneficial agreement, because it brings the Ukrainian people and the American business community closer together,” Suspilne quotes Bessent as saying in a comment to Fox Business.
The minister also noted that this agreement demonstrates to US citizens the economic benefits for Washington, and also “eliminates the possibility of any corruption by using the best American practices.”
Recall, on February 26, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that the parties had finally agreed on a version of the agreement on rare earth minerals. According to him, the document is called “Agreement on Establishing the Rules and Conditions of the Investment Fund for the Recovery of Ukraine.”
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the British publication the Financial Times reported, citing its own sources, that Ukraine and the United States had agreed on an agreement on minerals, excluding from it provisions that caused concern in Kyiv.
On February 26, former MP Leonid Yemets published a possible text of an agreement between Ukraine and the United States on rare earth minerals.
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Economy Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko were authorized by the government to sign a minerals agreement with the United States.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that the minerals and rare earths agreement would be a "bulwark" for Ukraine and supposedly protect it from a repeated attack by the aggressor country of russia.
