Over the past week, over 300 Ukrainian servicemen who voluntarily left the unit submitted reports for return to the army through the Army+ application.
The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization Kateryna Chernohorenko reported this during a national telethon.
"Over the past week, for example, we have received more than 300 reports for return from the unauthorized abandonment of military units. And now the dynamics will accelerate, because under the legislation there is a limited period for the absence of criminal liability for such returns," the official noted.
According to her, it happens that some servicemen have their reports rejected. This happens, she says, when the serviceman did not have time to arrive at the Military Law Enforcement Service department within 24 hours after submitting the report.
"Or, for example, he indicated unreliable and inaccurate data in the report. But, having received a refusal, you can try again: submit the report again, correct all those errors, and the state, the Armed Forces will wait for the return of these servicemen," Chernohorenko assured.
As reported, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Vereshchuk warned that there will be no more extensions to the term for voluntary return to service after unauthorized abandonment of a military unit.
On January 9, the Verkhovna Rada extended the term for voluntary return to service after the first unauthorized abandonment of a military unit until March 1.
Previously, the corresponding opportunity for a serviceman to return to service after the first unauthorized abandonment of a military unit without criminal liability was valid until January 1, 2025.
