White House warns Ukraine will be "a little bit unhappy" after russia-Ukraine deal

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that after the signing of a peace agreement between Ukraine and russia, both sides "will leave that table a little bit unhappy." She made the remarks on Tuesday, February 25, answering reporters' questions about possible concessions that moscow is likely to have to make.

Asked what russia would lose by signing a peace agreement, Levitt declined to specify the concessions that the President and his team are discussing. She emphasized: "The President knows how to make a deal better than anyone who has ever assumed the office of the American presidency, and in order to make a deal, you have to bring both sides to the table. And typically when you make a good deal, both sides leave that table a little bit unhappy.”

Leavitt also noted that signing an agreement on access to Ukrainian resources is important for Trump, and he expects Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to support this decision. According to her, "this will allow the return of American taxes that finance Ukraine's national defense, and it is also great for the Ukrainian people, who have been put through hell because of this war, and it will create a lasting economic partnership, as Ukraine will need to rebuild their country because of this brutal war."

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 19, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance warned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy against statements directed at President Donald Trump.
