The Verkhovna Rada has allowed special secondary education institutions to provide rehabilitation services to military personnel.
Iryna Herashchenko, co-chair of the European Solidarity faction, announced this on her Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
A total of 304 parliamentarians voted for the relevant bill, No. 10160, with a minimum of 226 votes required.
The state and local governments were allowed to create rehabilitation and recovery programs for military personnel and veterans on the basis of special secondary education institutions, and institutions were allowed to provide relevant services not only to children, but also to military personnel.
Special institutions of general secondary education can now provide rehabilitation services (assistance) to persons with special educational needs and other persons with visual and/or hearing impairments, in particular from among military personnel, persons discharged from military service, war veterans, persons with special merits to the Fatherland.
Educational institutions can also provide rehabilitation services (assistance) to persons with special educational needs and other persons, in particular from among military personnel, persons discharged from military service, war veterans, persons with special merits to the Fatherland, on the basis of a license for medical practice obtained in accordance with the procedure established by law, and in accordance with the procedures specified by law.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2022, the Verkhovna Rada provided for the provision of rehabilitation aids to all those who suffered from the armed aggression of the russian federation.
