US "very close" to peace agreement between russia and Ukraine - Trump's Special Envoy

The United States has moved "very close" to reaching a peace agreement between the aggressor country of russia and Ukraine, said US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

His words were quoted by Voice of America on Sunday, February 23.

Witkoff noted that each side is going to make concessions in order to reach a peace agreement. According to him, these could be economic or territorial compromises.

"We have come very, very close to signing something. The Istanbul Protocol Agreement could become a guideline for concluding a peace agreement between Ukraine and russia," the US Special Envoy said.

The US President is the best at uniting people and achieving successful results, because he makes them understand that "the path to peace is concessions and reaching consensus," Witkoff emphasized. In his opinion, the results of such activities of Trump should be successful.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 23, Witkoff said that the White House expects Ukraine and the United States to sign a minerals agreement next week.

On February 21, Witkoff said that he had befriended russian dictator vladimir putin while traveling to Moscow.
