There are useful critical materials worth USD 350 billion in occupied territories of Ukraine - Svyrydenko

There are useful critical materials worth USD 350 billion in the territories of Ukraine occupied by the aggressor country of russia.

First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko said this during the forum Ukraine. Year 2025, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"We know and have information that, unfortunately, in the temporarily occupied territory, there are about USD 350 billion worth of these useful critical materials. We understand that these are resources that, unfortunately, the aggressor currently possesses and which can be used... the same titanium is used primarily for the aviation industry, for the defense industry, for the medical industry... will be used against us in this struggle. Of course, our task is to ensure that those minerals and these explored reserves that are on the territory of Ukraine, confirm these reserves and attract investors there, again for processing, and not just for exporting raw materials," she said.

Svyrydenko noted regarding critical materials that Ukraine has reserves of titanium, lithium, and uranium. It is necessary to engage in geological exploration and update geological information on reserves, since the available information in some cases dates back to 1946-1960.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, said that the normal working process is underway regarding the agreement with the US on Ukrainian minerals, which could last months.

On February 19, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, regarding the draft agreement on Ukrainian rare earth minerals, which was transferred to Ukraine by the US and which he refused to sign, noted that the document was clear only in that Ukraine must give 50% of what is listed in the document. Zelenskyy also stated that the agreement on Ukrainian rare earth minerals should contain security guarantees from the US.
