Rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of the russian strike on the Shelter facility of the Chornobyl NPP. The situation is currently under control.
The press service of the SESU of Ukraine has reported this.
As of February 22, rescuers-skydivers of the SESU are carrying out work to partially open the shelter structures and eliminate one source of smoldering fire on the northern side of the arch.
Constant monitoring is carried out using UAVs with thermal imaging cameras and using handheld thermal imagers.
The radiation background at the Chornobyl NPP industrial site is within normal limits, there is no threat to the population.
