Baerbock says Germany wants to increase pressure on US due to situation with negotiations on Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock wants to increase pressure on the United States of America in connection with Washington's actions regarding the negotiations on the end of the russian-Ukrainian war.

According to MDR, Baerbock said this on February 21 at a campaign event in Potsdam.

"We are increasing the pressure on the Americans so that they understand that they will have to lose as much as possible if they no longer stand by the liberal democracies of Europe," the Minister said.

She warned the U.S. against blackmailing Ukraine and forcing it to effectively surrender to the aggressor country russia.

Baerbock stressed that a new turning point is needed now, and therefore "no delays and hesitations for the sake of our peace" should be allowed.

The head of the German Foreign Ministry also promised that she would support Ukraine as long as it needs it, because "this is our world."

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 21, Austrian Ambassador to Ukraine Arad Benkö said that negotiations to end the war should take place with the participation of Ukraine, but only Kyiv should decide when the time comes for compromises.

And on February 20, French President Emmanuel Macron said that next week, when he is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, he intends to tell the American leader not to show weakness towards russia.
