Former Director General of the GTS Operator of Ukraine Serhii Makohon considers the suspicion of the National Police to be revenge for his active position on the situation on the gas market and with gas reserves.
He wrote about this on his Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"I learned about the accusations of the National Police from the press. No one has contacted me before and asked for an explanation, although I have all the contacts. Therefore, from Monday my lawyers will start working and clarifying the essence of the case. This is obvious revenge for my active position on the situation on the gas market and with gas reserves," Makohon wrote.
According to him, everyone knows that dividends are determined and distributed not by a director general, but by the general meeting of shareholders or the supervisory board, and they were distributed by the relevant decision of the sole participant of LLC GTS Operator of Ukraine.
"The entire amount that was determined by the sole shareholder was transferred to the shareholder. Because LLC GTS Operator of Ukraine pays dividends to the shareholder, and not to the state budget. Moreover, the money was not withdrawn anywhere, but remained in the state company. I emphasize that this is not an accusation of corruption, and in the 2.5 years after my dismissal they could not find anything corrupt. Because I and my team worked honestly," Makohon noted.
He added that he would defend his position in court.
Makohon also does not believe that this suspicion is related to the competition for the position of chairman of the board of the GTS Operator of Ukraine.
"Someone really does not want me to apply there. That is why this suspicion was made right now," Makohon summarized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Makohon was informed of the suspicion due to UAH 18 billion in losses to the state budget.
He fled abroad.
