Rental and lease of demining machines possible in Ukraine

In Ukraine, it is possible to rent and lease demining machines.

This is stated in a message of the Ministry of Economy, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The message states that mine action operators can rent a demining machine.

Two manufacturers of equipment on a systematic basis offer to take demining machines for temporary use.

In particular, such a service was launched by GCS Ukraine, which represents the Swiss-German company-manufacturer of equipment GSC.

The first contract was signed with the international operator Danish Church Aid, which rented a heavy demining machine GCS-200.

It is noted that within the framework of the contract, GCS Ukraine will train Danish Church Aid personnel, provide support during the rental period, and also provide spare parts.

In the future, an option to buy the machine is provided.

“The agricultural sector is one of the foundations of our economy, and every day of delay in clearing territories from mines is a loss for people and the country. I am sure that operators and equipment manufacturers should consider leasing as an effective solution. Access to equipment, training and expertise will all help make our country safer,” said Dmytro Salimonov, Director General of Global Clearance Solutions in Ukraine.

The opportunity to lease the Zmii demining machine was also launched by RoverTech, which signed an agreement with one of the Ukrainian banks.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early October 2024, the Humanitarian Demining Center signed the first contract with the winner of the auction in the Prozorro system for the provision of services for the demining of agricultural lands.

Farmers use more than 200,000 hectares of agricultural lands demined since the beginning of 2024.
