Overnight into Thursday, February 20, russian troops launched 161 drones over the territory of Ukraine and used up to 14 missiles to strike critical infrastructure facilities in the Kharkiv Region. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 80 enemy UAVs, another 78 drones were lost in location, while information about the downing of missiles is not being made public.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of February 20, the russian occupiers carried out a combined strike with air, ground and sea-based missiles on critical infrastructure facilities in the Kharkiv Region.
In total, the enemy used up to 14 missiles: cruise missiles - Kh-101/Kh-55cm (launched from the Volgograd Oblast of the russian federation), Kalibr/Iskander-K (from the Black Sea/Crimea); ballistic missiles - Iskander-M/KN-23 (launched from the Voronezh Oblast of the russian federation).
The Air Force emphasized that information on the results of combat operations and the consequences of the missile strike is not being made public.
In addition, the enemy attacked with 161 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of simulator drones from the directions of Millerovo, Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (all - the russian federation).
"As of 10:00 a.m., it has been confirmed that 80 Shahed attack UAVs and drones of other types have been shot down in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa Regions. 78 enemy simulator drones have been lost in location (without negative consequences)," the message says.
The Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa and Kyiv Regions were affected by the enemy attack.
In addition, in the Kherson Region, an enemy guided bomb partially destroyed the entrance to a high-rise building, there are casualties, and rescue operations are underway.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of February 19, the russians launched two ballistic missiles and 167 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces shot down 106 drones, and another 56 UAVs failed to reach their targets.
