American businessman Elon Musk accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the alleged murder of American journalist Gonzalo Lira.
He wrote about this on the social network X.
“Zelensky cannot claim to represent the will of the people of Ukraine unless he restores freedom of the press and stops canceling elections!” Musk wrote.
After that, he added: "Zelensky killed an American journalist!". Before that, he reposted a message about American journalist Gonzalo Lira.
The Security Service of Ukraine detained Lira in May 2023 in Kharkiv on charges of justifying the armed aggression of the russian federation. The arrest attracted the attention of international media.
He was later released and soon re-arrested for violating bail and attempting to leave Ukraine - Lira tried to leave for Hungary, after which he intended to ask for political asylum there.
In January 2024, it became known that he died of pneumonia while in custody.
