As a result of the night attack by the russian occupiers on Odesa, more than half a thousand residential buildings were left without electricity and heat. Educational institutions and medical institutions were also affected.
As Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov reported on Telegram, as a result of the enemy strike, 14 schools, 13 kindergartens and a large residential area - more than 500 houses - were left without electricity and heating.
"One of the largest districts of our city, with more than 250,000 residents, 500 high-rise buildings were left without heating and electricity. But we already understand that the situation with the heat supply is very difficult. Therefore, we are making a decision to pour water into the system to avoid its thawing," Trukhanov explained.
Currently, energy specialists are assessing the extent of the damage and determining how long it will take to restore it. It has also become known about one injured, who is receiving medical assistance.
The local administration is deploying points of invincibility and mobile heating points. In the morning, the district authorities will begin accepting applications from residents of damaged apartments.
Due to the emergency situation today, in-person classes in schools and kindergartens have been canceled in the Kyiv district of Odesa.

"By the decision of the headquarters, we are canceling classes in the Kyiv district tomorrow. I ask everyone to remain calm. The situation is difficult, but we are working," the mayor emphasized.
Meanwhile, according to the Regional Military Administration, the number of injured in Odesa has increased to 4, including 1 child.
On the evening of February 18 and at night on February 19, russian drone attacks were recorded in a number of regions of Ukraine. The largest number of strikes fell on the Odesa Region.

There was also information about the threat of using ballistic missiles from Crimea. Currently, there is no official data on what means the city's energy infrastructure was attacked with. It is only known that drones participated in the attack.
Recall that since the beginning of 2025, significant changes have been recorded in the design of the Shahed-136 (Geran-2, Garpiya), which russia uses for attacks on Ukraine.
