Metinvest to invest almost UAH 6 billion in development of Kryvyi Rih mining and processing plants in 2025

Rinat Akhmetov's Metinvest Group will invest almost UAH 5.7 billion in the development of Kryvyi Rih mining and processing plants in 2025.

This is announced in the company's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The largest part of the investments will be directed to overhauling the equipment and structures of the plants - over UAH 1 billion.

Investment projects are being implemented here that will ensure the stability of production processes, reliable operation of transport and key equipment, the implementation of quality indicators of products to maintain competitive positions and reduce the costs of iron ore production.

The statement says that in order to gain energy independence, the construction of gas-piston power plants with a total capacity of about 20 MW and solar generation with a capacity of 23 MW is planned at the Northern and Central mining and processing plants.

A total of UAH 1.3 billion will be allocated to these projects.

It is noted that in 2025 the active phase of implementation of the strategic project "Condensation of enrichment waste at the Northern mining and processing plant" begins.

This large-scale project is aimed at ensuring the transportation of condensed enrichment tailings to higher levels of the tailings pond after 2026.

In addition, it will reduce energy costs.

In 2025, it is planned to develop UAH 1.4 billion.

In 2025, UAH 70 million will be allocated to improve working life in 2025.

In particular, these are major repairs of household premises in the administrative and household complexes of the structural divisions of the plants.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in mid-January, the Metinvest group stopped the work of the Pokrovsk coal group due to a change in the situation on the front line, a shortage of electricity and a worsening security situation.

The main shareholders of Metinvest Group are SCM (71.24%) and Smart Holding Group (23.76%), which participate in the management of Metinvest on a partnership basis.

100% of SCM shares belong to businessman Rinat Akhmetov.
