Russian occupation troops are close to Kupiansk, Kharkiv Region and are constantly shelling the city with all types of weapons.
The head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration Andrii Besedin has announced this, Espreso reported on Tuesday, February 18.
Besedin noted that the russian occupiers are trying to attack and use drones. According to him, the aggressor controls logistical routes and hinders the life of the community.
"The enemy is constantly shelling the city with all types of weapons. The enemy is very close along the entire front line, both from the north and from the south... Currently, the situation is very difficult and critical. This concerns the front line, the security situation, social and critical infrastructure," said Besedin.
The head of the City Military Administration reported that the weather conditions are also causing the system to freeze inside the buildings, and utilities have to work around the clock.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 26, russia launched air strikes on the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv Region. The bodies of two elderly women were recovered from under the rubble of a house.
On January 27, the UK Ministry of Defense announced that the troops of the aggressor state russia are gradually expanding their bridgehead on the western bank of the Oskil River in the northern part of the Kharkiv Region in order to put pressure on the city of Kupiansk.
On January 29, the russian occupiers attacked an ambulance in Kupiansk with drones.
