In the city of Dolgoprudny, Moscow Oblast, two latest Valdai radar systems, designed for round-the-clock automatic detection of drones and counteraction to them, were destroyed in an explosion.
The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"On the night of February 6-7, 2025, a powerful explosion occurred on the territory of military unit 52116 in the city of Dolgoprudny near Moscow. The explosive destroyed two Russian Valdai radar systems, designed for round-the-clock automatic detection and counteraction to UAVs," the report says.
According to the Defense Intelligence, Valdai is the latest development of the russian military-industrial complex – the first model in its class adopted by the army of the aggressor state, russia.
The military unit where the Valdai explosion occurred is responsible for the security of the airspace over the russian capital.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed the radar station of the russian invaders' Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system, which was located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia Region.
Earlier, cyber specialists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Security Service conducted a large-scale cyber operation against the fuel and energy sector of russia.
Earlier it was reported that the losses of russian troops on February 12 increased by 1,250 to 854,280 people, and Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 17 tanks, 23 armored combat vehicles, 58 artillery systems and 153 drones over the past day.
